Sometimes, It's Not My Fault

I sometimes make embarrassing mistakes like this one time, when I lost a necklace that Tyler gave me.

It was a present. I was really excited when he said he had a present for me.

I was extremely pleased when I opened the box. It was a gorgeous diamond necklace. It looked something like this:

I immediately put on my fancy new necklace, and celebrated.

I wore my necklace 24/7. I never took it off. For months. And then, I went to a party. I wanted to wear a different necklace, so I took it off, and set it on my bedside table. THIS WAS A HUGE MISTAKE. When I got home, I was too drunk to remember to change my jewelry. I went straight to sleep. When I woke up in the morning, It was GONE. I looked EVERYWHERE!

....Then it occurred to me....What would Tyler think??? He buys me a fantastically gorgeous piece of jewelry, and I LOSE IT??? Where did it go? I left if right there! Why is it not there any more? Did I put it in the jewelry box? My drawer? Did I set it in the living room? WHERE WAS IT??? I was so SURE that I had left it placed on my bedside table where I would now where to find it! It didn't just get up and walk away!!!

I had to think of a plan. Tyler could not find out.... I had to play it cool...

For weeks, I simply didn't wear any jewelry. Every time I caught him looking at me, I wondered if he knew....if he noticed....I became suspicious, and high-strung...

Eventually, I broke down and told him.

And so the search began anew. Eventually, we did find the necklace, together. Tyler lifted on end of the bed off the floor, so I could more thoroughly search beneath it. And lo and behold, there it was. My necklace. In a tangled knot, beneath the dark, cavernous depths of my bed.

The moral of the story: Sometimes, things really do get up and walk away!

....Stupid Cat. Darn you, Teddy!
