This is where I will have answers to your many awesome questions....whenever you get around to asking me those questions....and I get around to answering them.
Go ahead and shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions or requests! In the meantime, here are some of the questions that I have been asked so far.....and that I felt like answering.
Were you named after anyone?
Yes. My name, Catherine, is my grandmother's middle name. As it happens, my grandma and I are really close! =)
What is your favorite color?
Green, of course. I really love that olive/army green. Really makes my eyes pop!
Where are you from?
Texas
What is your favorite food?
Peanut Butter, of course.....but it has to be creamy...no crunchy.....and it has to be Skippy. If you don't like Skippy Peanut Butter, just keep it to yourself, or I will have to disown you.
What are your hobbies (aside from blogging)?
I have had LOTS of hobbies over the years. I tend to bounce around between them sporadically. Aside from blogging, I also enjoy writing (as in novels that I don't finish), playing piano, singing, watching movies, playing video games (especially the classics), yoga, bowling, and art. I also really enjoy sewing....but don't have the machinery or supplies necessary to do it.
Do you have a favorite book/movie/song/etc?
Book - Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet
Movie - Jim Henson's The Labyrinth
Song - "Run" by George Straight
Etc - I don't know if you can have a favorite "etc", but as soon as I figure it out, I'll get back to you!
Where did you learn to draw?
Lots of places, actually. I had "art" class in elementary school....then I started taking art classes in high school for the fun of it. Turns out art is something I'm good at naturally. I've also taken two delineation courses as well as an advanced watercolor class in college....and then there are all the design studios.....
Are you a professional artist?
Technically, no. I am not a professional. But I have had a few pieces win art competitions, and I have sold a few pieces to people I know. The most expensive thing I've ever sold was a Merry-Go-Round that went for $250 to a co-worker.
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood, but it can't.
How does one "chuck" wood?
I'm not exactly sure. Why don't you ask those guys that toss tree logs? I bet they know how to chuck wood!
How long does it take to create enough pictures for one post?
This varies. My posts can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the number and complexity of the pictures. The more people there are, the longer it takes. Also, animals and things with shading take much longer than people. Typically, graphs and charts are the fastest and easiest to draw. The only exception is this post, which I worked on little bits at a time for several weeks.
If you have 6 sons, what will you name the 6th one?
I suspect that if I have 6 sons, I will not be naming the last one. I will probably be brain dead from exhaustion.....maybe Toby?
Do you draw first and then write the post, or do you write the post and then draw for it?
Typically, I write first and then draw.
How do you come up with ideas for your posts?
Magic
What will you do if you get famous?
Eat lots and lots of chocolate cake!
What are your goals and aspirations for the next five years?
In the next five years, I hope to graduate from school, get married, move out of this college town, get a permanent job in design work of some sort, and if I'm very lucky, get into a house and maybe even get pregnant (but this one has to come LAST).
If you could have a pet dinosaur, what would it be?
Obviously, I would have a Velociraptor.
What program/hardware do you use to do your drawings?
I draw everything on my laptop, which is an HP Paviliion dv7, using a mouse. I do the drawings in MS Paint. Occasionally, I will use Adobe Illustrator for the backgrounds I make...but usually it is all paint.
